George Broadhead
ENGLISH AND FRENCH , 1953-57
George Alfred Broadhead was born in Douglas and attended Douglas High School for Boys , before going on to study English and French at Keele between 1953-57 . Mr Broadhead then relocated to London , and later became one of the first members of the Campaign for Homosexual Equality ( CHE ).
George was an internationallyacclaimed LGBT Humanist activist , and founded two of the longest established gay and lesbian groups in the UK . George lived in Kenilworth , Warwickshire , until his death aged 87 earlier this year .
