30 HOME OF MOST FAMOUS PAIR OF MOUNTAINS  The twin peaks that juts out of the Caribbean Sea is the result of volcanic activity less than a million years ago. They are dubbed the most famous pair of mountains in the world and the most photographed site in the Caribbean. In 2004, UNESCO declared it a World Heritage site. Gros Piton measures about 2,619 ft/786 m and Petit Piton about 2,461 ft/739 m. Gros Piton is located in Choiseul and Petit Piton in Soufrière and are connected by the Piton Mitan Ridge. A popular tourist site, it takes 2 hours to climb Gros Piton. Petit Piton on the other hand is a riskier more taxing climb. Cousins standing atop Gros Piton revelling in the feat of climbing the peak and enjoying the spectacular panaromic view of the entire island from the summit.  The Amerindians considered the mountains to have mystical powers.
