Career Pathways Students Reproduce Assembly Line Production
Ms. Sims' Career Pathway Classes have been busy this semester. For
Thanksgiving, they set up a role play factory assembly line, where each student had a certain task to complete. They focused on quality and quantity of
final product. The end products were mosaic Thanksgiving Turkey pictures.
Once they were completed, the pictures were delivered to a local nursing
home to be shared with the residents who may not have any family visiting
over the holidays..
Also, the CPE students have been reading the fictional novel "Now Hiring"
and learning about the job search and the job interviewing process. Their final
project was an Interview Role Play activity where all CPE students interviewed and competed for the same position. The PE teacher, Coach Tyler
Vick and his PE students conducted each interview and selected the applicant that they felt was the best qualified, and interviewed the best. Each student was evaluated by Ms. Sims using an Interviewing Rubric. Ms. Sims
plans to conduct more interviews after Christmas to better prepare her students for the real world of work.

Salvation Army Angel Tree
Adoptions
The NHS Student Council and NHS
National Honor Society have
adopted three children from the Salvation Army's annual Angel Tree.
Several students participated in an
after school shopping trip to Toys R
Us and The Children's Place to purchase items from these children's
wish lists on behalf of the two school
clubs. This is an annual service project for both clubs and students look
forward to this every year. Both clubs
are sponsored by Mrs. Casey Clarke.
