Most of the maritime industry companies are not ready and protected enough against cyber-attacks . Furthermore , there are no world regulation for the maritime industry yet , although the IMO is working on regulation that will fit the maritime industry , focusing on vessels . The IMO regulation is expecting to be implemented during 2021 . The challenges of implementing cyber security measures , procedures and infrastructure in the maritime industry companies are complicated , yet they should be to be more prepared , secure and resilient for cyberattack crisis .
Our vision ! To develop and implement a unique Cybersecurity end-to-end system for the maritime market ( ports and vessels )
Customers
At the first stage and priority : Vessels owners , Shipping companies At the second stage : Sea ports ( owners and operators ) Future market growth : Governmental agencies , Coast guards , Maritime police , Navies
Ports Market Size The market size for ports : More the 8,220 sea ports in 222 countries
Vessels Market Size The market size for vessels ( above 300 gross ton ): 2017 – 250,000 vessels include cruisers , general cargo , bulk cargo , oil tankers , etc . 2023 – more than 280,000 is expected .
Our Solution Concept Multi-Layered Cyber Defense Shield ( MLCDS ) based upon building blocks which can fit a vessel and a sea-port according to its unique systems and network structure . MLCDS is based upon the next building blocks : 1st Layer : Protecting ports and vessels ’ IT systems ( Servers , emails , CRM , TOS etc .) 2nd Layer : Protecting the navigation system ( RADAR , ARPA , ACDIS , sensors etc .) 3rd Layer : Protecting interfaces between SATCOM and the vessel ’ s systems 4th Layer : Protecting GPS and AIS systems . 5th Layer : Protecting chief engineer ' s systems and sensors
The MLCDS concept : Each layer " box " will be able to detect cyber-attacks on its systems . After detection the system will take automatic action in order to over come the attack and come back to normal work . The crew and the shipping company will be notified about the attack and the automatic action results . Information will be sent through the SATCOM system to the shipping company and / or the vessel owner , to a command and control room ( SOC – Security Operation Center ). The SOC will be notified 24 / 7 about ships ' status .
