Bird houses in our school gardens
One of the technology projects the 3rd year
students at Antonio DomÃnguez Ortiz
Highschool have carried out during the first
term was the building of several bird boxes to
place them both in our school gardens and in
the park close to our school, Parque lineal de
Palomeras Bajas.
As you can see, they built 18 houses in total,
using recycled wood from containers and
pallets, as a means to encourage both reusing
and recycling.
Our students worked in groups of six in the
school workshop and they were proud of the fact
their work would help birds in the nearby
park.Well done!
And then as a follow-up activity, we planned a
visit to the Park with Vente a ver aves, who help
us to dicover the great number of bird species
that are living in big cities, such as Madrid,
nowadays and how our environment the habitat
and customs of birds are changing.
These are links that deal with our visits
