Make fitness fun and affordable by Laura Johnson
You might be wondering how you are going to keep fit if you have a full-time job
You may have belonged to a sports team at university and now you ’ re not doing anything sporty , you ‘ re feeling a bit lost .
There may be a local gym that you can join or try home workouts . The easiest way to keep fit and have fun at the same time is by finding an activity that you enjoy ; I do horse riding . 2wenty spoke to Amba Suma who is a trained , qualified PT as well as a graduate , she advised about fitness and nutrition .
When asked if it is hard for graduates to maintain a certain fitness level , the answer was ‘ If someone is already very into their nutrition and fitness , it ’ s part of a lifestyle for them so they are naturally going to carry that on ’
Going for a jog or a walk is another way of keeping fit and it is also really easy to incorporate into your daily routine . Amba says as a graduate ‘ Get moving again ’. For any graduate it will be easier to get into a routine with fitness if you are
‘ really into fitness and nutrition ’ but it is generally not a big concern for graduates .
The recommended amount of sleep for adults each night is 8 hours , many people find it hard to get a full 8 hours every night . But according to Amba sleep is incredibly important ‘ sleep goes hand in hand with fitness and nutrition ’.
Nutrition is another important aspect that can affect our fitness and therefore our physical and mental well-being . ‘ Don ’ t ever put any pressure on yourself ’. Fitness and nutrition should be enjoyable if it is not , it can quickly become a negative thing .
‘ Movement and fitness … should never be a chore ’ was the main piece of advice . If fitness and nutrition have been a part of your life anyway it should be an easy thing to maintain .
