WORKING LIFE
and putting himself out there . He is trusting smaller artists with a similar style to him rather than going for something mainstream and big . “ My first production , ‘ Ufo ’ with my friend Dan Fable was successful because we are on the same vibe and we stayed true to our style .”, he says .
A challenge is the speed at which the industry changes . Often you don ’ t realise as an audience how fast living the music industry itself is . Spotify for example is constantly adapting their platform to be more accessible for the music consumer . “ It impacts the actual musicians massively so we have to constantly be on the ball with the changes so we can adapt the way we produce our music accordingly .”, Matteo explains . This puts pressure on , as one technique that worked for years can suddenly be non-existent if a platform changes , therefore they learn and adapt almost every day .
One of the obstacle on his journey was self doubt , which lead to him putting time into jobs that were safe , but not helpful for his dream . “ I learned from it though and all my jobs gave me a tiny push into the right direction .”.
Together , Matteo and his friend and business partner Dan made their dream come true , a business called ‘ Keep me Young ’ that produces and distributes music with the aim of encouraging people to stay young at heart . Through their passion and dedication , they are providing a platform for people to share their music and be inspired to stay young .
All their music and the name of their business is dedicated to their friend Noah , who committed suicide at a young age after a long fight with depression . The three bonded through their passion for music since the first day they met . Matteo and George donate part of their income through “ Keep me Young ” to mental health charities . “ Noah loved being young , he loved the independence and the freedom . We hope to give people that feeling of ‘ young ’ when they listen to music produced by us and I love to think that they listen to a bit of him as well .”, Matteo says with a smile . His last advice for people in their twenties is to gentle remind themselves to overthink less . “ Enjoy the moment while you work towards your goal , good things take time . Surround yourself with the right people and who you align with , at work but also in your personal life .”.
‘ Keep Me Young ’ provides a community for people sharing the same passion
