The bridge that carried trains was restored and widened to allow for automobile traffic when Collier's Reserve infrastructure was under construction in 1993. The developer spent approximately $500,000 on the restoration and ultimately widened the narrow bridge to 38 feet and lengthened it to 120 feed and added wooden railings and a cobblestone surface in keeping with the rustic, natural theme of the develpment. Kelly Brothers of Fort Myers, the same firm that completed the renovation of the Naples Pier, handled the project and managed to use

all the existing substructure, including the original footings and columns that support the structure. You can still see remnants of the train bed when you travel from hole 2 to hole 3 on our golf course.
