The Schumacher ’ s building lays at a very specific point . As already written , the industry is one of the dominant elements in the Kohlplatz area . Its larger volumes are defining the surroundings and for some residents the industry appears even like a monster . Opposite the industry is the green undeveloped meadow that forms the negative volume of the steel objects . The Kohlplatzstrasse forms a kind of demarcation line that separates the two areas from each other . The Schuhmacher ‘ s house is also located precisely on this street . On one side , its main façade faces the industrial side , and on the other , it directly adjoins the wide meadow . It thus stands between two spatially different giants .
