the abilities to perform actions within the game. Furthermore, you can pick up stuff in the game, and the gloves will
make it feel like you are really holding something. The game will function better if you are wearing socks. These will
register if you walk or jump. However these socks are optional but will make the game better.
Shopping
In 2050 there will only be a few real shops left. The buildings that were used, are renovated in houses because of the
population that keeps growing. But how do they shop? Everybody has an app on their iPad, which is called Vriesema.
In this app you can see yourself standing. The collections from the shops which still exist, for example H&M and the
Zara, are viewed in this app. You can put clothes on in the app and decide whether you like it or not. If you do like it,
you can put the item in your shopping bag, pay and the clothes will be delivered the next day. In the same way shoes
are bought. It is possible to see yourself because you
have
to measure several parts of your body and the app will
turn
this into a body with your sizes. So if you for example see
a shirt
you like, the app will automatically pick the size of the
shirt
that fits you.
Food, restaurants
In a restaurant, a menu is inside the table. There is a
slider
above the tablet. If you want to order something, you
slide a
little part of the table and a tablet appears. You can order
food
on the tablet. If you have ordered, a robot will bring your
food.
The robot rolls to you. If you are done eating, you have to
put all
the dishes in the circle on the middle of the table. There is a glass tube appearing above the circle. The tube gets all
the dishes and is going up. When you have food left, you get it with you to your home. That is because of the law
that a restaurant can’t throw away food. If you want to pay, you have to use your hand. In the upside part of your
hand is a chip. On that chip is money, it is like a credit card. You don’t get receipts, because of a new law saying it
costs too much paper.
School 2050
The school plan has been the same for too many years. But there are some things we would want
to change. Nowadays there are 30 students in a classroom who all listen to one teacher. Of the
children around 75% isn’t listening, because they already know a lot about the subject or find it
boring. We think this could be done differently. If you already understand the subject and cannot
learn anything more about it, you can skip the classes. To show the teacher that you don’t need
the lesson, you should let a robot test you. They will ask you things and see if you know enough. If
you score a certain percentage on the ‘test’, you don’t have to come to the next lesson.
To motivate the children even more a new system is set up in which you can go home as soon as you’re done with
schoolwork. The robots are also produced to do this work, they can check who is done and who isn’t. All classrooms
have robots, all robots know all the different subjects at any level. The robots know how to help the children and can
help them if they need anything. The children also work on iPads which are also connected to the
robots. In this way, the robots can show anything on the iPad if they want to and you can record
the explanation of the teachers. So if you don’t understand it you can listen to it later without the
teacher explaining it in real life. The children who are ill get their explanation on the iPad so they
don’t miss a whole lesson.
Tests are held 12 times a year, exams are held 12 times a year. The students can chose when they take their exams,
but you have to take all twelve. The thing we would like to see changed are for example a finger-scan on the locker
room. In this way nobody can lose his or hers tag. What we have now is if your tag gets stolen that person has access
to your locker. So the finger-scan is saver. The finger-scan also holds your school and personal information.
