The Hinsdale Town Team is a member of the West Suburban Swim Conference, which swims“ recreationally” with 5 other nearby towns. Swim meets are held both home and away. The team practices Monday through Thursdays( see times below), with meets held on either Tuesday or Thursday evenings. The season will end with a conference championship meet held on Saturday morning, followed by a team party a few days later. Parents are required to volunteer for home meets.

PLEASE NOTE: Participants on the Town Team must be able to swim 25 yards unassisted and be at least 5 years old. Participants who do not meet this requirement will be refunded. This program is designed as an introduction to competitive swimming – it is not swimming lessons.

Coach Mirko comes to Hinsdale Town Team with 23 years of coaching experience. In recent years he coached with: Hinsdale Swim Club( Lead Group Coach), M3 Aquatics( Head Age Group Coach), Hornet Swim Club( Head Coach), and with Lyons Swim Club( Assistant Head Coach and interim Co-Head Coach).

During his carrier as Swim Coach, Coach Mirko was responsible for running age and senior group swim team. He coached athletes ages 6-21 and helped develop swimmers’ skills and his athletes are regular attendees of Regional, State, Zone, Sectional and Junior National level meets. He coached individual and relay state champions and medal winners.

He was selected as a coach for Team Illinois for the Mega- Zone Meet in 2008 and Zone Meet in 2010, 2012, Junior Elite Camp in 2014 and Pro-Series Swim Camp in 2019. Coach Mirko served as a member of Age Group Committee at Illinois Swimming.

Growing up in Serbia, Coach Mirko was an accomplished swimmer specializing in Butterfly and Individual Medley. He held numerous national titles and competed internationally. He received a B. S. in Economics at the University of Belgrade, Serbia before moving to and becoming a citizen of the United States. He has multiple finishes in the top three in Illinois Master’ s Swimming State Meet, finished two Chicago marathons and finished trek to Everest Base Camp. Coach Mirko lives in the South Loop with his family.

Time Trials will be held during 1st week of the practice for each age group according their practice times.

Coaches recommend you only attend if you are new to Town Team, No time trials, if you were previously on the team, and / or want to show improvement to your coaches. If you cannot make that time, you may talk with the Coaches to setup another time that week.

A late Price of $ 30 will be added to all registrations beginning June 1. No registrations accepted after June 11.

Team Apparel

Price includes practice / meet attendance. Directions on where to purchase a swim suit / swim cap will be given prior to the start of the season.

Swimmers practice time might be adjusted based on their swimming ability.
