Elks girls swim and dive looks for everyone to contribute to success

Fall Sports Preview 2026
The 2026 Elk River girls swimming and diving team began its season Thursday, Aug. 27, and will continue competing through at least October.
Head coach: Katherine“ Kat” Vail( first season; coached the 2025-26 Elk River boys swimming and diving team last season)
Key returning swimmers: Vail said everyone on the 2026 team is a key contributor.
Key departures: Indira Sivaraj and Taylor Voss graduated. Both were strong swimmers and leaders on the 2025 Elks team.
Important meets: Thursday, Sept. 17, at
Coon Rapids; Thursday, Sept. 24, at Centennial; University of Minnesota Maroon and Gold Invite, Saturday, Sept. 26; Thursday, Oct. 1, vs. Blaine; Tuesday, Oct. 6, vs. Rogers.

Elk River boys swim and dive head coach Kat Vail( bottom right) led the 2025-26 Elks to the Section 8-2A title in February. Now, Vail will also be coaching the Elk River girls team this fall, taking over the reigns from Julie Odegard. Odegard still holds her position as one of the assistant principals at Elk River High School.
