Updates on mine life extension at Red Dog
NANA remains committed to the long-term success of our region and our people. A major part of this commitment involves our ongoing work at the Red Dog Mine. Through strong partnerships and careful planning, we are taking steps to support our shared goals and secure economic benefits beyond the planned end of mine life in 2031.
Here are the latest updates on our operations and exploration activities:
• Our mining operations continue to progress steadily while prioritizing the safety of the environment and our employees.
• Mining operations in the Aqqaluk pit are on track to continue providing resources until 2031.
• To meet our production goals and support steady operations, we are scheduled to complete the Qanaiyaq pit this year. This expansion is an important step in our current operational plan.
• We are planning beyond 2031 through our mine life extension( MLE) activities. Our priority is to explore new opportunities while protecting our resources. Multiple efforts are currently underway to map out the next phase of Red Dog.
• NANA Geo is leading exploration activities across NANA lands. Their work helps us understand the full potential of our mineral resources and ensures that NANA has a direct, guiding hand in our future development.
• Surface drilling at Teck’ s MLE project sites continues to move forward. This collaboration provides our teams with the data needed to make responsible, long-term decisions.
