ACADEMIC EDUCATION CONFERENCE GDC educators gathered for an incredible Academic Education Conference. Participants gained new insights, expanded their perspectives, and strengthened the connection between education and the broader correctional environment. Additionally, they built lasting relationships with colleagues from across the state and had the honor of celebrating some outstanding leaders.
STATE HIGHER EDUCATION The State Higher Education Executive Officers Association( SHEEO) hosted " Second Chances, Stronger States," a national event focused on improving higher education opportunities for those in the justice system. Career Technical and Higher Education Director Dr. Jodi Ford and Deputy Director DeBaja Coleman participated in discussions on program quality and student-centered approaches to correctional education.
