Senior Day- Tuesday, Aug. 11. Senior citizens are invited to a special senior social at 9 a. m. in Ahlberg Hall at Dakota City Heritage Village. The social will offer coffee, donuts and senior-focused vendors, along with a live music on the Craft Beer Garden Stage.
Hero Appreciation Day- Wednesday, Aug. 12. This day will show appreciation to local heroes including veterans, active duty military and public safety personnel. There will be an 8 a. m. to noon reception in Ahlberg Hall Museum for local heroes with coffee, donuts, and vendors supporting service members and first responders. Heroes can board the Dakota Village Trolley at 12:30 p. m and be honored in the 1 p. m. tractor parade through Dakota City Heritage Village. Military personnel, veterans, and immediate families can also pickup free Rodeo Grandstand tickets in the information booth at 8 a. m. All must bring a military ID or proof of service.
Kids Day- Thursday, Aug. 13. The fair offers special children’ s entertainment with Children’ s Barnyard Tours, extra magic shows, character visits, and more events will be announced.
Public Safety Day- Saturday, Aug. 15. This day will be chance for fairgoers to meet firefighters and see trucks from local departments, EMS, Dakota County Sheriff and SWAT demonstrations from 10 a. m. to 3:30 p. m. This day offers the opportunity to see a new ladder fire truck at the“ Touch a Truck” when visitors can explore the vehicle, learn to use a fire extinguisher, watch live kitchen fire demonstrations, and learn fire safety tips.
