Look Back: Evaluation of Progress Since Prior CHNA
The northern Nevada community has made meaningful progress through Renown Health’ s 2025-2027 Community Health Implementation Plan and Northern Nevada Public Health’ s 2022- 2025 Community Health Improvement Plan( CHIP). Together, these efforts advanced priorities related to behavioral health, social determinants of health, preventive health behaviors, and access to healthcare.
Key accomplishments included expanding behavioral health and crisis response services, increasing school-based mental health supports, improving access to nutritious foods and community resources, and strengthening care coordination in underserved areas. Efforts also expanded access to primary, preventive, and maternal health services while supporting healthier lifestyles through education, screenings, and wellness initiatives.
These collaborative efforts strengthened connections between healthcare, public health, and community organizations while helping reduce barriers to care and improve quality of life across the region. Despite this progress, ongoing challenges related to mental health, affordability of care, provider shortages, and access to resources continue to shape community priorities identified in the 2026 CHNA.
