Bloomington in tune
This year, we’ re celebrating our community connections with a theme that captures who we are and where we’ re headed: Bloomington in Tune.
It reminds us that when we listen, collaborate, and function well together, our community is at its strongest.
Every day, our neighbors, workers, businesses and nonprofit partners contribute their talents, each playing an essential role in the rhythm of Bloomington.
Bloomington works best when we’ re aligned- when residents, businesses and city leadership move forward with shared purpose. That spirit is at the heart of our community-based strategic plan,“ Bloomington. Tomorrow. Together.” It continues to guide our work as we invest in a future that is welcoming and built to last.
And those investments are striking the right chord. Thanks to Bloomington voters, a dedicated half-percent sales tax is funding $ 155 million in transformative projects across our city. From the renovation of the Bloomington Ice Garden to the construction of a new community health and wellness center, and restoration of the Nine Mile Creek corridor and Moir and Central parks, these efforts are creating spaces where our community can gather and thrive.
We’ re also keeping our economic engine in tune. Bloomington remains a destination for innovation and opportunity. Through strategic partnerships and business support programs, we’ re helping companies of all sizes succeed by ensuring our local economy stays strong and resilient.
As a premier hospitality destination, Bloomington continues to welcome millions of visitors each year. Our hotels, restaurants, shopping and attractions offer experiences that resonate far beyond our city limits.
One true measure of our success is how our residents feel about calling Bloomington home. The 2025 National Community Survey results continue to show high levels of satisfaction, with 89 % of respondents ranking quality of life in Bloomington as excellent or good, and ranking safety and city services highly. Our parks, trails and recreation programs remain a source of pride, offering year-round opportunities to connect with nature and each other.
We are dedicated to listening to one another, working collaboratively and making thoughtful decisions that benefit our entire community. By staying in tune, we will continue to cultivate an enduring, remarkable community where people want to be.
Working together, we will create something stronger and more vibrant than any one of us could accomplish alone. There’ s so much to celebrate and even more ahead.
