Braham Area Schools serve students within a 140-square-mile area including parts of Isanti, Pine, Chisago, and Kanabec counties in east-central Minnesota, along with the communities of Braham, Grasston, and Stanchfield.
ISD # 314 offers high quality programming and is one of the most efficiently operated districts in the entire state. Large enough to offer opportunity and small enough to stand out- that’ s what you will get as a Braham Bomber!
Braham provides one-to-one devices for every student in grades 3-12. Students in grades K-2 have accessibility to devices on a ratio of one device for every two students. Braham also offers free after school academic programs; Bomber Boost serves elementary students and Study Lounge serves high school students.
Braham Area Schools houses the headquarters of the East-Central Minnesota Educational Cable Cooperative, a joint-powers association of area schools providing interactive TV programming, broadband, security, and other services to its members.
The school board regularly meets on the third Monday of each month, except holidays, at 6:00 p. m. in the Braham Area High School Community Room. Board members include Allison Londgren( chair), Kayla Hagfors( Treasurer), Mike Eklund, Rachel Dahlquist, Connie Gelle( clerk), John Swanson( vice-chair), and David Shockman. Superintendent Ken Gagner joined the district in 2015.

Children in grades K-6 attend the Braham Area Elementary School and receive a comprehensive and challenging education. The elementary school is a 2017-2018 MESPA

Title One, English Language Learners, developmentally appropriate physical education and special education help integrate students within the mainstream classroom.
Specialists in music, physical education, and media enrich the students’ day and help produce creative thinkers.
Kindergarteners attend class all day, every day. Braham offers high quality preschool programming with licensed staff for ages 3-5, as well as before and after school program( BASK) for school-aged children.
BRAHAM AREA HIGH SCHOOL
Young people in grades 7-12 attend Braham High School, with many opportunities to receive a well-rounded education. Along with the core subjects, students have the opportunity to explore their personal interests through electives offered in foreign language, career technical education, agriculture, business, music, art and science. The fouryear graduation rate at Braham is above the state average.
The school also offers Supermileage, which has students creating a car from the ground up to compete in state and national competitions to produce the car that can achieve the best miles per gallon. It is one of only 50 in the state.
Over 40 % of Braham juniors and seniors earn college credit for free. Students may earn an associate’ s degree without leaving the building and the degree is transferable to all public colleges in Minnesota. Through the generosity of the Frandsen Family Foundation, all graduating seniors qualify for two years of free tuition( plus a stipend for supplies) at Pine Technical and other two year schools.

Those attending the high school can demonstrate and sharpen their musical talents in a number of ways including choir, echelon, marching, jazz and pep bands. Over 60 % of students in grades 7-12 participate in extracurricular programs, which include 16 co-curricular activities and 10 varsity-level sports. The recently completed facilities improvement projects in 2016 & 2022 added athletic fields and a new track, as well as an upgraded performance theater and technical education classrooms.
Students can give back to the school by serving as peer tutors and may also participate in a number of other activities such as academic bowl contests, speech courses, school-play / musical performances, student council, ECHO, FFA, and the National Honor Society.
