Section 3:
Principle of Single-Source Authority
3.1 Binding Authority of One Parent / Guardian
Signing the application for admission to Crofton House School constitutes a formal demonstration of support by ALL Parent( s)/ Guardian( s) for the Child’ s admission to the School.
Once a Child is accepted as a Student, the Single-Source Authority Principle applies: the word, consent, instruction, or acceptance of terms provided by any single Parent / Guardian with lawful decision-making authority shall be considered binding upon and legally accepted by all other Parents / Guardians who share in the decision-making responsibility for a Child.
The Single-Source Authority Principle applies universally to: ●
●
Enrolment Agreement: Acknowledging and agreeing to the Enrolment Agreement and other enrolment governing policies
Financial Obligations: Acceptance of tuition payment plans, incidental expenses, and other fees.
● Educational Decisions: Program choices, course selections, and academic accommodations. ● Routine Permissions: Consent for excursions and general school activities. ● Discipline: Acceptance of disciplinary actions or agreements. 3.2 Exception to Single-Source Authority: Student Withdrawal
The School recognizes that a Student ' s withdrawal constitutes a fundamental change to the enrolment contract and is of paramount importance. The withdrawal of a Student requires the explicit, written consent of ALL Parents / Guardians who possess lawful decision-making authority, regardless of whether they were the initial party to sign the Enrolment Agreement.
The School will not finalize a withdrawal until documentation verifying the consent of all such parties has been received and confirmed.
3.3 Parent / Guardian Obligation Regarding Status Changes
Notwithstanding the above, it remains the joint and several responsibility of all Parent( s)/ Guardian( s) to immediately inform the School in writing of any court order, parenting agreement, or change to their legal status that alters, removes, or allocates decision-making authority.
3.4 Official Communication
Communication with any one Parent / Guardian will be deemed to constitute official communication with all Parents / Guardians.
