Part One: Lawful Authority and Residency
Section 2:
Lawful Authority to Enrol a Child at Crofton House School
2.1 Requirements at the time of Admission
Application for admission is restricted solely to Parent( s)/ Guardian( s) holding lawful decision-making responsibilities for the Child. Continuation of the Child ' s annual enrolment is contingent upon this parental / guardian status remaining unchanged throughout the enrolment period.
2.2 Verification of Lawful Authority
The School uses the Child ' s birth certificate as the primary document to verify the status of the Parent( s)/ Guardian( s) with decision-making authority.
Where the information on the application form does not align with the birth certificate— in terms of the number or legal names of the Parent( s)/ Guardian( s)( see Figure 1)— the School mandates the submission of supplementary legal documentation before an admission application will be accepted. Such documentation may include a court order, witnessed agreement, or statutory declaration.
2.3 Parent / Guardian Obligation to Notify of Status Change
The School considers the status of an individual as having lawful decision-making authority to be unchanged throughout the Child’ s enrolment, unless officially notified otherwise.
It is the explicit responsibility of the Child’ s Parent( s)/ Guardian( s) to immediately notify the School of any change in decision-making authority, which must be supported by documentation as outlined in Figure 1.
