MUS-110 MUS 100- Class Guitar I
This course aims to give the student a solid technical foundation and basic understanding of the guitar. Students will be expected to play together in class, practice on their own time outside of class, and perform for the teacher for assignments and exams. Class time and assignments will follow the required textbook and also include extra material provided by the teacher. By the end of the semester the student will be expected to know a variety of key aspects pertaining to the guitar. These include but are not limited to: how to tune the guitar, knowing the notes on the first 3 frets across all six strings, knowledge of a dozen or more of the most commonly used chords, usage of basic basic strumming patterns, basic knowledge of how to read both standard musical notation and guitar TAB, how to hold and effectively use a pick. 3.00
