Augsburg Park Library ready for change
While it has a new look and new features in 2025, Augsburg Park Library continues to connect Richfield to the world through its resources and programs.
The library received new carpet and paint throughout the building, as well as new furniture, updates to its restrooms, windows, building infrastructure and green space, additional study rooms and updated meeting room space over a span of several months. And its parking lot was reconfigured during a span of several months, all of which was completed this spring.
Libraries often act as a de facto hub for the community, serving both young and old. At Augsburg Park Library, staff members understand the value members bring to the community and have continued to develop programs that attract and interest the younger set as well as the adult population.
Augsburg Park Library, next door to the Richfield Community Center, has served the Richfield and neighboring Minneapolis residents since 1975. The library offers free events, homework help, genealogy exploration, arts and cultural programs, early learning programs and, of course, a plethora of books. 20 | RICHFIELD | Community Guide 2025 enable it to host a variety of programs, ranging from knitting clubs to the celebration of the Moon Festival, one of China’ s most revered traditional holidays.
Other library programs include Conversation Circles, which recognizes Richfield’ s diverse population by offering a venue for non-native speakers to practice their English and meet new friends. Further opportunities include Family Storytime, Family Fun Nights, Teen Nights and Read with an Animal.
A large meeting room can accommodate 45 people, while a small meeting room can accommodate 12 people. The library also has a video conference room that provides space for two participants.
Augsburg Library is also an art venue, hosting various exhibitions throughout the year, including an annual teen art contest and shows featuring individual artists.
The library is part of the Hennepin County Library system.
