Princeton ’ s Public Safety Day has a dual purpose . The free annual event is designed to educate as well as entertain , providing an up-close look at squad cars , fire engines and other important equipment used within the city .
The September gathering at the Princeton Public Safety building – home to the local police and fire departments – at 305 21st Ave . S ., features bounce houses , fire safety demonstrations , building tours and many other family activities .
Snowplows and utility trucks are displayed and there is a police K-9 demonstration , along with Operation ID activities and food consisting of hamburgers , hot dogs , snow-cones , popcorn and chips .
Public Safety Day is a collaboration between the Princeton Police Department , Princeton Fire and Rescue Department , Princeton Public Works and Princeton Public Utilities .
