Princeton Ambassador Program
The Princeton Ambassador Program is a scholarship program dedicated to the professional growth of young , compassionate women who strive to represent and serve their communities .
The city named its first woman representative in 1956 , Centennial Queen Marlys Leander . She was awarded a set of pots and pans and an internship at a local business . The program has evolved over time , but the importance of providing young women with the opportunity to pursue their aspirations to do more has never been lost .
The program works with the candidates to introduce skills designed to strengthen self-confidence in public speaking , resume writing and interviewing . These young ladies establish friendships that last beyond the program . For the young ladies named , the year is filled with opportunities to meet local business and organization leaders , serve at many local events , represent Princeton at other community ’ s events and participate in the mentorship of younger girls , as well as other activities to prepare them for college and business interviews .
Alumni from the program can be found throughout the community in the Healthcare Services , Real Estate Industry , Law Enforcement , Counseling & Resources Industry , Education and Manufacturing Sales to name a few .
The Princeton Ambassador Program has three age groups : Little Miss Princeton ( age 8-9 ), Junior Ambassadors ( age 10- 16 ) and Princeton Ambassadors ( age 17-22 ).
