2025 POTTAWATOMI GATHERING

A FEW THINGS TO NOTE

Michigan summers can bring the heat – and the humidity! Here are a few tips to help you stay cool and comfortable during the event:
• Stay hydrated: Watering stations are available throughout the event grounds at Gun Lake Tribe’ s Jijak property. Be sure to drink plenty of water, especially on humid days when your body loses fluids more quickly.
• Find some shade and cool off: A cooling station is located on the back patio of the Jijak Rec. Hall.
• Cool off with water misters: Walk through the misting stations and use your cooling neck ties to help beat the heat. These are especially refreshing when the air is thick with humidity.
• Bug awareness: With warm weather and humidity come mosquitoes and other insects. We recommend applying insect repellent regularly, especially in the early morning and evening hours. Long sleeves and pants can also help protect against bites.
