The many departments that work together at the city level are an integral part of why Plymouth continues to be recognized for its quality of life. All of the departments deliver a variety of services:
Public Works – engineering, streets, transit, solid waste, and sewer and water services Public Safety – police and fire departments Community and Economic Development – planning, housing, building inspections and permitting services, as well as support and resources for businesses and developers
Parks and Recreation – special events, park maintenance and recreation facilities
Administrative Services – finance, election administration, information technology, city clerk and communications services
With each department responsible for its own areas, they all manage to come together to further the city’ s larger mission of adding quality to life in Plymouth.
