Chromebooks , the internet , and course information on Google Classroom , every high school student has anytime , anywhere access to learning .
Concurrent college courses are offered in most subjects including science , English , Spanish , and math courses . The district also offers online learning and ITV classes for students wanting specialized courses . A work-link program offers high school credit for on-the-job training in community businesses .
The district is proud to report an approximate graduation rate of 95 %. Three-quarters of graduating seniors pursue higher education through colleges , universities , technical schools , and the military . Each year , about 20 % of Rush City students achieve the A honor roll for four consecutive quarters , and about 20-25 % of them accomplish the status regularly .
Rush City High School offers students a variety of extra-curricular activities to enrich students ’ high school experience . On the athletic side , students may pick from football , volleyball , cross-country , bowling , trapshooting , basketball , gymnastics , hockey , wrestling , baseball , softball , golf , and track and field . In addition , the school offers a variety of arts and academic opportunities for students , including band , choir , wind ensemble , jazz band , marching band , All School and One Act Play , Speech , Knowledge Bowl , Minnesota Honor Society , Student Council , and Math League .
Continued focus areas include relationship building , strengthening our Multi-Tiered Systems of Supports , and enhancing our curriculum , instruction , and assessments . The district also desires to increase participation in extra-curricular or enrichment offerings to promote collaboration , empowerment , and care .
The Rush City School Board members include Matt Meissner , chair ; Will Schmidt , vice chair ; Kenneth Lind , Treasurer ; Kristin Papke , Clerk ; Teri Umbreit , director ; and Rory Roth , director . The board welcomes anyone interested to attend meetings at 5:30 p . m . on the third Thursday of each month in the Rush City High School Media Center .
