Coach Wimbo( Lee Wimberley) moved me and Carson Baltimore up for the post season where we ended up winning a state championship. My favorite baseball memory is coming back when down 8-2 this season to a walk off win against Rivercrest. 5. Discuss the upcoming basketball season and what you feel you have to do to help the team take a step forward as you guys came up short making the regional tournament. Missing the regional tournament last year definitely stung, but it brought energy to this off season to not let the same thing happen. This year I’ m going to have to control the offensive more as a point guard and set my teammates up with easy shots and scoring opportunities, while also guarding the best player on the opposing team every game. 6. Also talk about playing baseball and the expectations you have set for that season as well? I’ ve played baseball since I was five years old. From playing travel ball every weekend to practicing in the winter, baseball has always been around. This is the first time ever that I will get to be on the same team as my little brother( Maddox Harrison). This upcoming baseball season we have the same standards as last year. Make it to the playoffs then make a run. We have a lot of underclasses that will have to step up and be ready to contribute to the team. 7. What is your favorite sport and why? My favorite sport is football. From peewee to varsity, football has always been the most fun and enjoyable sport. I’ ve been playing football with this group of guys since fifth grade, and they are one of the many reasons football comes out on top. 8. What teammates from each sport do you expect to have good seasons to help you guys win? We have a bunch of talented guys that are ready to make an impact. In football we have Brody Morris, Kaleb Birmingham, and Kallum McWhirter. All three of these guys will play big roles in our team’ s success this season. In basketball, Carson Baltimore is going play a big role for us as a spot up shooter while Espn Burrow and Noel Salomon will add value coming up from junior high. In baseball Isaac Moore and Brady Cohn will play big roles from the mound and with their bats.
9. What are you plans beyond high school? My plans after high school are to attend the University of Mississippi to study electrical engineering. Then earn my professional engineering license and become an engineer.
10. Have you faced any sort of obstacles or hurdles in life that have helped you become a better player and person? The biggest hurdle I’ ve faced comes from playing all three sports. While I would never quit a sport for another one, the spread of time among sports is the biggest hurdle, because I am constantly competing with kids who only dedicate their time on that one sport. That requires me to devote more time to all three sports so I stay ready to compete.
