RECFEST
RecFest , Milaca ’ s annual bluegrass festival , is held in July in Rec Park . RecFest features four days of bluegrass music , including workshops , food vendors and jam sessions all weekend long .
The event , a 501 ( c )( 3 ) nonprofit , highlights some of the regions ’ most noted bluegrass bands and musicians , performing bluegrass music in the historic Rec Park band shell along the banks of the beautiful Rum River .
Guests can bring a lawn chair and “ jammers ” can bring their instruments to join some of the finest people anywhere for a weekend of music and fun ! Not only is the music a big draw , but
Milaca also offers camping at Rec Park , hiking and biking at the Milaca Trails System , a golf course and driving range and excellent dining options throughout the city .

RUNNIN ’ IN THE RUFF
Milaca ’ s annual trail run is a long-standing run that follows strikingly scenic trails over hills and ridges along the picturesque Rum River . The event was previously held in May , but now takes place in September and is free to enter .
Participants can choose from a two-mile run / walk or a 10-kilometer ( 6.4 mile ) run .
Whether you are a hardcore runner and are in it for the race , or simply want to be part of the event and enjoy what the Milaca trails have to offer , you are welcome to join .
