Minnetonka Schools offers greatness
The Minnetonka Public Schools mission is simple, but effective: to ensure all students envision and pursue their highest aspirations while serving the greater good.
The message is carried throughout the school district that serves more than 11,200 students in the communities of Chanhassen, Deephaven, Eden Prairie, Excelsior, Greenwood, Minnetonka, Shorewood, Tonka Bay, Victoria and Woodland. The district also has a successful open enrollment program, with more than 3,600 students from 41 other districts opting in.
Minnetonka Schools is led by a seven-member school board and Superintendent David Law, who began serving in the role in 2022. Law brings almost 30 years of experience to the position, having served as the superintendent of the Anoka-Hennepin District previously.
The district has six elementary schools, two middle schools and a high school. In addition, the district’ s Early Childhood Family Education program takes care of families and children throughout their early developmental years. Educational opportunities also abound for more than 20,000 learners of all ages participating in Minnetonka Community Education programs, located at the Minnetonka Community Education Center in Excelsior.
