Qavvik Air expands services and fleet enhancing regional support
Qavvik Air is advancing its commitment to serving Alaska with several significant developments aimed at improving air service, supporting key industries, and boosting emergency response capabilities across the state. These updates reflect our dedication to meeting the evolving needs of our communities and partners.
New services and fleet enhancement Qavvik Air has recently commenced in-region flights to support Red Dog crew changes, providing essential transportation for one of our area’ s most vital industrial operations. This service ensures reliable and efficient transit for the workforce traveling to and from the mine, reinforcing our role in supporting the local economy.
In a major enhancement to our fleet, Qavvik Air has purchased a state-of-the-art PC-24 aircraft. The new jet has arrived in in Fairbanks this winter and is expected to begin operations in April 2026. This addition will significantly expand our capacity and service offerings.
Launch of Deadhorse medevac base Further strengthening our operations, Qavvik Air is preparing to open a new medevac base in Deadhorse on Jan. 1, 2026. This strategic expansion will provide critical air medical services to the North Slope, ensuring faster response times for those living and working in remote areas. The base will be a crucial resource for local communities and industry personnel, providing life-saving support when every second counts.
Together, these initiatives represent a major step forward for Qavvik Air. By expanding our services, having a modern fleet, and improving emergency capabilities, we continue to build a more connected and resilient future for Alaska.
