Phillips State Prison , in partnership with Truett McConnell University held a ceremony for 24 offenders who earned their bachelor ’ s degree in Christian studies . These graduates are now equipped to assist facility Chaplains and will serve as missionaries to other offenders within GDC facilities across the state . Staff , family and friends were in attendance to celebrate and congratulate the graduates . # ContinuingEducation
Lee Arrendale State Prison ( SP ) and Lee Arrendale Transitional Center ( TC ) have been actively engaged in offering various programs , including Financial Literacy , Electric Wiring , OSHA Certifications , and Firefighter 2 testing . These classes equip participants with valuable knowledge and skills , provide certifications , and create job opportunities for offenders upon release .
