Letter from our Co-Chairs, Subcommittee on Impact
At the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, meaningful impact is driven by intentional leadership and thoughtful oversight. The Board’ s Subcommittee on Impact was established to ensure that our approach to responsible business practices remains integrated into the Airports Authority’ s long-term strategy, strengthening our ability to create value for our passengers, employees, partners, and the communities we serve.
The role of the subcommittee is to provide strategic oversight of initiatives that strengthen transparency, regulatory compliance, environmental responsibility, and community impact across all areas of the Airports Authority. Through collaboration with executive leadership and stakeholders, we work to ensure these efforts remain embedded in decision-making and responsive to the evolving needs of our industry and region.
As our airports continue to expand their role as global gateways and economic drivers, responsible stewardship becomes increasingly essential. Progress requires adaptability, innovation, and a clear understanding that operational success and public trust are deeply interconnected.
This report refl ects that commitment. It highlights not only measurable progress, but the systems, partnerships, and governance practices that make sustained impact possible. We are proud of the momentum refl ected here and remain focused on advancing strategies that strengthen opportunity, accountability, and long-term value for the National Capital Region and beyond.
