Destinations and Flights
The Airports Authority served more than 53.9 million passengers at Reagan National and Dulles International airports in 2025, marking the highest passenger volume in the history of the two-airport system. Strong growth in passenger traffi c at Dulles International Airport helped offset a slight decline at Reagan National following its record-setting performance in 2024. The milestone refl ects continued demand for domestic and international travel and highlights the region’ s growing role as a global gateway.
‘ Decade of Dulles’ Continues
At the end of 2025, Dulles International was served by 46 airlines providing more than 340 daily departures to 162 destinations. Notably, Royal Jordanian and Contour airlines inaugurated nonstop Dulles service, and six new destinations joined the airport’ s global lineup. Strong growth continued for United Airlines, which refers to the current period as the“ Decade of Dulles” because of its expansion plans at the airport.
We’ re incredibly proud to see more people than ever choosing to fl y through our airports. This growth refl ects the strength of our airline partnerships and the appeal of our region as a global gateway. Every new route and destination we add is about creating more opportunities for travelers, for businesses and for the communities we serve.
It is exciting to see Dulles continue to reach new heights as more travelers choose our airport to connect to the world. This momentum refl ects the strength of our airline partnerships and the thoughtful growth we are planning for the future. As we expand our facilities and enhance the passenger experience, we are building an airport that meets today’ s demand while preparing for even greater opportunities ahead.

Dulles set new records in 2025 for international passengers( 10.53 million) and total passengers( 29.01 million). Much of the 6.4 percent rise in total passengers was because of a signifi cant climb in domestic passengers arriving in Washington or connecting to other destinations.
In response to current and projected growth, Dulles plans to open a new 435,000-square-foot, 14-gate concourse in the fall of 2026 to serve United customers. The concourse will provide direct access to the airport train system and add more than 15 new shopping and dining locations. Further additions to the concourse have entered the design phase and are part of an overall master plan to expand and improve facilities across the airport.
