COMMUNITY GUIDE 2025

Year-round fun at Centennial Lakes

Many moons ago, Centennial Lakes Park used to be a gravel pit. Today it is considered the gem of Edina, a lush, green paradise home to countless events and activities.
At the heart of several residential, retail and office developments, Centennial Lakes Park boasts 24 acres of greenery and a dazzling lake spanning the entire park. In the summer, visitors can fish or ride paddle boats on the 22 million gallon lake. By winter, 10 acres of skatable ice is prepared and maintained for chilly fun.
Centennial Lakes also features bridges, benches, 1.4 miles of walking paths, public art and an outdoor amphitheater.
The lake is the center of attention at the start of nearly every summer, as the park puts on the Parade of Boats, hosted by the Edina Model Yacht Club. The parade features scores of remote-controlled boats racing around the shimmering pond. To mark the end of the summer, the park hosts the Lighthouse Night and Torchlight Concert, held in the 1,000-seat Maetzold Amphitheater as an homage to the days of John Philip Sousa.
During the warmer months, the park opens the popular bentgrass putting course with 18 greens, providing a refined mini-golf experience complete with obstacles like planter beds, ponds and sand traps.
After summer fades, other events continue to spark wonder, including the Fall Into The Arts Festival, which features dozens of creative vendors, and the Winter Ice Festival, which offers skates for rent and horse-carriage rides.
Apart from being a public amenity filled with vast greenery and active recreation, Centennial Lakes also features a collection of condos lining the park and an 850,000-square-foot Class A office space, known as Centennial Lakes Office Park.
A variety of retail opportunities also enrich the park, which sits in the Greater Southdale Area, one of the Twin Cities’ most prominent commercial corridors. During the summer, the park boasts even more shopping options with its weekly Farmers Market, which features vendors selling everything from colorful fruit to fresh flowers – one more reminder that Centennial Lakes has something for everyone.
