Observed the pack at dawn. Their coordination is surgical— they have the highest success rate of any hunter in the park because they don ' t waste energy calculated. It’ s lean, mean, and on ' maybes.' Every move is incredibly effective.
Our Expenses
Our expenditures for this fiscal year totaled $ 44.4M, $ 37.7M of which went directly to local implementing partners for meeting project milestones and securing protected acres. $ 3.25M covered our conservation operations expenses, the internal costs we incur to find, develop, and execute our projects. Taken together, this $ 41M represents the vast majority of our expenses- 92.3 % spent on our programs. The remaining $ 3.4M( 7.7 %) supported our fundraising efforts and other overhead expenses.
It is notable that this $ 41M in program expenses is less than the $ 51M in projects approved( reported on the prior page). There are two drivers of this difference: 1) Project payments are conditional upon successful achievement of milestones, thus are expensed when paid rather than upon agreement; 2) We have been rapidly growing, thus disbursements trail agreements.
