Transfer Students
Applicants who have graduated from high school( or earned their GED) and then completed course work at another college or university with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale will be considered for admission. Some programs require a higher GPA.
Gwynedd Mercy University reserves the right to rescind admission should the final official transcript( s) reflect a cumulative GPA lower than 2.0.
All transfer students who matriculate at Gwynedd Mercy University are required to earn a minimum of 30 credits at GMercyU to earn a bachelor’ s degree. This credit requirement does not change regardless of the number of credits accepted in transfer. Additionally, transfer students must complete at least half of the credits required for the major at Gwynedd Mercy University. The number of credits in the major varies within each degree program. Programs with discipline-related accreditation may have additional requirements. Credit requirements for students transferring into an associate degree program will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

All accepted undergraduate transfer students who have not successfully completed a college-level English composition course or a college-level mathematics course with a grade of C or better must take the respective Gwynedd Mercy University placement assessment( s). Students who have previously earned a four-year college degree are exempt from taking the placement assessments.
The time in which a transfer student can complete their chosen program of study will vary since it may be necessary to fulfill curricular requirements out of normal sequence.
U. S. citizenship or permanent residency is a requirement for licensure within certain academic programs. International students and students who are under DACA status or are undocumented should carefully review the licensure requirements for their state before enrolling in a degree program that leads to licensure. Additional information can be found on the National Conference of State Legislatures website. In addition, some programs also require a background check to complete experiential learning requirements, such as clinicals and student teaching. The background check requires a U. S. Social Security Number.
Integrated Studies Program
In order to be admitted into GMercyU ' s Integrated Studies program, each student must meet the following criteria:
• Be between the ages of 18 and 26 at the start of the program
• Have a documented diagnosis of intellectual disability
• Demonstrate interest in pursuing higher education at Gwynedd Mercy University and gaining meaningful employment
