This course is designed to enhance school and district leaders ' ability to transform personally and professionally to advance the learning of students and adults within their respective systems. Participants will identify their own strengths-based leadership characteristics, recognize personal immunities to change, analyze an adaptive problem in their current educational environment, and plan for authentic, continuous, studentcentered improvement. |

School District Practicum provides students with first-hand experience in a broad array of responsibilities that are inherent to the position of superintendent of schools. Field-based learning in EDU 828 School District Practicum I and EDU 829 School District Practicum II shall be organized through leadership projects that address each of the Pennsylvania Leadership Standards. |

District Practicum II |
This Practicum focuses on the superintendent ' s ability to follow the standards, create a vision, and demonstrate a leadership style that exemplifies values and ethics. You will also gain experience in analyzing leadership styles, creating a positive climate and culture, fostering leadership teams, and managing relationships to enhance student achievement. Additionally, you will experience evaluating data-driven decision making, handling challenges, communication, working with Human Resources, collective bargaining, how to use social media effectively, and the importance of robust technology. Each of the two practicum courses require 180 hours of embedded field experience. |
