PUB-495
Public Health Grant-Writing Capstone must have a signed learning agreement with the internship site that has been approved by their advisor prior to beginning the internship.
Students will work in teams to apply their communication, planning, and evaluation skills to the development and presentation of a grant proposal seeking funding for a health education or promotion intervention. Students will also review the content of the CHES exam and develop preparation strategies. Limited to public health majors.

Introduction to Allied Health
The course provide an introduction to the healthcare system, healthcare professions, and key topics such as patient satisfaction, safety, infection control, ethics, legal considerations, and fundamental patient care skills and procedures.
RC-210
Medical Terminology
This course offers an in-depth exploration of terminology related to the
human body, with a particular focus on the respiratory system. Emphasis will
be placed on prefixes, suffixes, and root words essential for effective
communication in today’ s healthcare environment.
RC-230
Respiratory Theory I
This course covers the principles and techniques of medical gas
administration, humidity and aerosol therapy, lung expansion therapy, chest
physiotherapy, and basic physical assessment. It also includes an overview of
essential sciences relevant to respiratory care.
RC-231 Respiratory Theory II
This course will focus on the various diagnostic testing uesd in respiratory care, including arterial blood gas sampling and interpretation, pulmonary function testing, methacholine challenge, bronchoscopy, and an introduction to basic electrocardiogram interpretation.
RC-232
Respiratory Theory III
This course will serve as an introduction to the care and management of the
patient ' s airway. Additionally, it will provide an introduction to the design,
development, initiation, management and discontinuation of continuous
mechanical ventilation.
RC-233
Respiratory and Cardiac Physiology
This course will provide in-depth coverage of the anatomy and physiology of the cardiopulmonary system. Particular emphasis will be placed on pulmonary mechanics, control of breathing and gas exchange. General characteristics of obstructive and restrictive lung disease will be addressed.
