Use of Marijuana: As a Gwynedd Mercy University nursing student, a commitment to the highest professional standard and the contract we hold with society to be safe, competent care providers is expected. Our legal contracts with clinical agencies require clean substance screens. State laws that legalize marijuana do not change our standard and our commitment to a drug-free lifestyle, both during the school year and during breaks. Use of marijuana will not be permitted in the College of Nursing. Please refer to the BSN Guidebook for further information regarding this policy.
Professional Disposition and Conduct BSN, ABSN, & Weekend BSN: Professionalism is expected in oral and written communication and in all behaviors while interacting with faculty, staff, and peers at the University and with agency staff in all off-campus clinical experiences. Incivility, an example of unprofessional behavior, will not be tolerated. Unprofessional behavior is grounds for dismissal from the program.
Health Insurance Coverage: Students must carry health insurance while in the nursing program. Information confirming current health insurance( card or plan details) must be uploaded into Complio. Failure to upload this information will result in the student ' s inability to participate in clinical.

SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY PREREQUISITE( SLPP) PROGRAM
Program Name: Speech-Language Pathology Prerequisite( SLPP) Program Accreditation: N / A Primary Program Modality: Online, Asynchronous Program Coordinator: Karen A. Fallon
Program Description: The Speech-Language Pathology Prerequisite( SLPP) program is a postbaccalaureate course sequence designed to prepare students who have earned bachelor’ s degrees in fields other than Speech-Language Pathology( SLP)/ Communication Disorders to apply for admission to graduate speech- language pathology( SLP) programs. This post-baccalaureate program is not a degree program, but rather a series of upper-level, undergraduate courses required by most SLP Master’ s programs for admission eligibility. Students accepted into the SLPP program will register and enroll at Gwynedd Mercy University as non-degree-seeking( non-matriculated) students. Upon completion of the program, students will be eligible and prepared to enter a Master’ s of speech-language pathology program. The SLPP program benefit students who wish to train to become speech-language pathologists but do not have the undergraduate prerequisites for graduate school.
