Students will be required to complete the clinical competency evaluation forms as well as timekeeping, via Trajecsys, an online reporting system. The use of Trajecsys begins in the Junior year. All clinical course requirements must be completed and reviewed by the clinical coordinator by the specified deadline. Failure to do so will result in a decrease in final course grade. Students must complete all clinical course work prior to the start of the next semester. Students who are not in compliance will be dismissed from the program.
These courses are competency-based. Competency is defined as accurately performing procedures on a consistent basis, not just once. Each rotation requires that the student attend the scheduled days to attain competency in the rotation. Competencies will be achieved if at the completion of the scheduled rotation all required experiences are acceptable and the scheduled number of required clinical days during these rotations is completed. These are the requirements needed to achieve the grade of anβ A.β If the student is unable to attend a scheduled clinical day for reason of illness, they will have the opportunity to electively complete the required days during that semester. These days can be completed during scheduled time off which occur periodically during the semester rotations; however, the time cannot be scheduled when the University is closed. If the student elects to complete the required scheduled days of practice during this rotation, it must be done prior to the start of the next semester.
The student also may elect not to complete the scheduled rotation days and receive a decrease in their grade. Failure to comply with recommendations within the specified time period will result in dismissal from the program. In the event of inclement weather and the University is closed, students do not report to clinical, and the student must notify the clinical site that the University is closed. The combination of Clinical hours and didactic hours shall not exceed 40 hours per week.

NOTE: One clinical day is equal to eight( 8) hours, unless otherwise indicated.
