Doing Business with the Airports Authority
The DISI team hosted our kick-off supplier diversity event of 2024 , aimed at empowering the small business community in navigating the procurement process with the Airports Authority . The event also shed light on forthcoming opportunities within the Tier 2 project at Dulles Airport and strategies to access capital for business expansion .
Nearly 150 participants took advantage of the opportunity to network with industry pioneers , prime contractors , and representatives from the banking and lending sectors . The event featured insights from MWAA ' s Office of Supply Chain Management , Turner Construction Co ., and United Airlines , who highlighted avenues for local small businesses to thrive . Moreover , financial institutions including M & T Bank , WACIF , and Industrial Bank took part in a panel discussion , delving into the financial hurdles often encountered by small and minority-owned enterprises .
The event garnered enthusiastic engagement from attendees , who actively posed questions and sought guidance . It served as a platform for fostering connections , sharing knowledge , and fostering growth within the small business community .
