In addition to the permanent works of art spread across the city , musical events are presented all summer long at the public amphitheater at Lyndale Gardens , 6400 Lyndale Ave ., and at the Richfield Band Shell , 636 E . 66th St .
Your palate can enjoy the vibrancy of global cuisine in Richfield as well . Local restaurants feature foods from the United States , Mexico , Japan , Thailand , Vietnam and more . Ethnic markets also operate in the city , featuring specialized groceries , gifts and household products .

April : Earth Day Celebrations – Join the community in service projects , enjoyment of nature and educational fun .
May : Citywide garage sale weekend -- Hosts dozens of sales and many more shoppers .
June : Juneteenth – Led by community leaders and the Human Rights Commission , Juneteenth offers the community an opportunity to commemorate June 19 , 1865 , when word reached Texas that all the enslaved were now free .
July : Urban Wildland Half Marathon and 5K – A beautiful run exploring the parks and neighborhoods of Richfield .
August : Night to Unite – This annual event brings together block parties across the city and features visits from Richfield Police , Fire and other staff .
Unity in the Community – Celebrate community and prepare children to return to school at this community event .
September : Penn Fest – Enjoy a car-free Penn Avenue on this Sunday event in September . Vendors , activities , demonstrations and fun bring thousands out to Richfield .
October : Halloween fun abounds , with Wood Lake Nature Center ’ s Half-Haunted Halloween , community Trunkor-Treat and the Great Pumpkin Giveaway .
November : Fall boutique and Afternoon of Authors events provide an autumn outing to connect with community artists and crafters .
December : Holiday Lights Parade and Contest – Get in the spirit with this holiday parade featuring municipal , school and partner vehicles bedecked with twinkle lights and decor . Submit your home ’ s lighting display to the annual contest amongst residents .
Candlelight and Ice – Ring in the New Year at Wood Lake Nature Center with a luminary trail hike , hot cocoa , s ’ mores and activities .
