In Osseo Area Schools , the district ’ s goal is that all students are inspired and prepared to achieve their dreams , contribute to the community , and engage in a lifetime of learning .
Students can benefit from an array of opportunities , support and partnerships that help them graduate with the confidence , courage and competence to make their dreams a reality .
As Minnesota ’ s fifth-largest school district , Osseo Area Schools serves more than 21,000 early childhood through adult learners in northeastern Plymouth as well as all or parts of Brooklyn Center , Brooklyn Park , Corcoran , Dayton , Maple Grove , Osseo and Rogers .
Osseo Area Schools students reflect the vibrant global community , coming from homes where more than 100 dialects or languages are spoken . The district ’ s schools are racially and culturally diverse , and students experience rich , real-life learning environments that prepare them for success in the 21st century workplace .
The district ’ s size is an advantage , allowing for a robust offering of academic and extra-curricular opportunities ; greater access to technology to enhance learning ; and more staff to support students ’ individual learning needs . Students don ’ t just sit in classrooms , they actively engage in learning and benefit from the added value offered by community partners .
Magnet schools allow students to deepen their learning in special focus areas . Elementary magnet schools include

Birch Grove Elementary School for the Arts ; Weaver Lake Elementary : A Science , Math & Technology School ; and Zanewood Community School : A Science , Technology , Engineering , Arts and Math ( STEAM ) School . STEAM programming for grades 6-8 is offered at Brooklyn Middle School . Senior high magnets are Park Center Senior High : An International Baccalaureate World School and Osseo Senior High , which offers a health sciences magnet curriculum .
In addition to academics , Osseo Area Schools leverages the performing arts , co-curricular and leadership activities , sports , and community service to give students a wide range of opportunities to find their path and round out their educational experience .
The district has a six-seat school board , members of which are elected at-large in staggered terms , in addition to the superintendent , who serves as an ex-officio member . The school board typically meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at the Education Service Center , 11200 93rd Ave . N ., Maple Grove .
