Electrophysiology mentorship
As part of a summer mentorship program , Manish Assar , MD , FACC , FHRS , medical director for electrophysiology and on the medical staff at Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Hospital – Dallas , hosted two high school students per week for a hands-on experience . During the week-long mentorship , the students experienced working in the electrophysiology lab , patient clinics , physician conferences , and inpatient areas .
American Heart Association
The teams at Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Hospital – Dallas and Fort Worth are strong supporters of the American Heart Association ’ s ( AHA ) efforts in the fight against cardiovascular disease and stroke . Support included the following events in Dallas and Fort Worth :

North Texas Food Bank
For the past several years and especially during the pandemic , donations were made to the North Texas Food Bank . Food insecurity concerns have increased . The organization distributes food through a network of more than 1,000 feeding programs and more than 200 Partner Agencies throughout North Texas . Together with other Baylor Scott & White Health facilities , contributions assisted with keeping the shelves stocked for numerous families impacted by the pandemic .

The John Ritter Foundation for Aortic Health Research
Recognizing the importance for education on aortic health , Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Hospital supports the John Ritter Foundation in its efforts to raise awareness for aortic dissection and other conditions of the aorta . This fiscal year , the hospital was involved in the Fort Worth / Dallas Aortic Health Run / Walk , national advocates training and the celebrity bowling event . Clinical research on this devastating and primarily fatal condition continue with the dedication of this organization .
Nancy Lieberman Charities
For many years , the hospital has supported Nancy Lieberman Charities ’ efforts to promote health and fitness in specific at-risk areas . A national organization known for its “ Dream Ball Courts ” program , the hospital supports the annual gala . In addition , the support extends to a summer basketball camp for economically challenged and at-risk children across the Metroplex .
