Impact investing
Impact investing helps KeHE Cares ® eliminate poverty through sustainable job creation . We give unbanked or underbanked entrepreneurs affordable capital in the form of micro-loans they pay back over time with interest , then reinvest the funds in more organizations .
In 2023 , we increased our portfolio to 21 investments across the nation and worldwide .
Impact investing in action Our investment in Masaka Creamery in Rwanda helped transform a struggling operation into a leading dairy processing business that purchases raw milk from thousands of smallholder farmers . It supports more than 75 employees , many of whom are Deaf or hearing impaired and previously lived in abject poverty .
We also invest in businesses focused on relieving human suffering , creating a sustainable economic engine that helps turn dependence into dignity and freedom .
