Hidden Talent
This year , we integrated Hidden Talent into our core talent acquisition strategy , launching a pilot in Aurora , Colorado , to hire individuals from traditionally underestimated populations such as Veterans , adults with disabilities , people with criminal records , new Americans , and survivors of human trafficking .
Investing in Hidden Talent is another way KeHE ® lives our Belonging values . Plus , companies that invest in Hidden Talent have been shown to reduce turnover and increase retention .
Based on the key learnings from the Aurora pilot , our expansion is already underway with programs slated in Lehigh Valley , Dallas , and Chino — and a goal to be nationwide by the end of next fiscal year .
Onboarding improvements
A new Careers website , launched in March 2024 , has helped us improve the average time to fill corporate job openings by 15 %— from 39 days to 33 days . We ' ve made the site more engaging and easier to use , including a live chat bot to answer questions . We ’ ve also seen the speed at which we can identify and contact quality candidates go up , and by hiring smarter , we ’ ve also raised our retention rate for warehouse employees and professional drivers .
Life Coaching
One of the many unique programs that KeHE offers free to employees is helping them pursue their personal and professional goals and become the best versions of themselves at work , at home , and in their communities . This year , 149 KeHE employees at six distribution centers received one-on-one coaching sessions to help them overcome obstacles , develop new skills , and unlock their full potential .
The initial results were so impressive that new coaches and programs are being added across KeHE so that the program can be available to employees across the enterprise .

Advanced Employee Listening Surveys

Engagement surveys give KeHE valuable insights into employees ’ feelings about their jobs and the company . This year , we implemented two advanced surveys — an enhanced Vibe Engagement survey and a new Lifecycle survey . These surveys are a first step in our journey to make the most of our employee feedback .
KeHE outperformed the U . S . average on six statements , including “ Overall , I feel that my career goals can be met at KeHE ” and “ I receive meaningful recognition when I do a good job .”

More than 75 % of employees said they would “ recommend KeHE as a great place to work .”
All Directors who lead 10 or more team members are required to review Vibe feedback and create action plans to address common topics affecting their people .
