SUPPORTING THE SUCCESS OF OUR RAMS

“ I just never cease to be impressed with the young men here ,” stated Fordham Prep trustee Vinnie Murray ’ 98 , Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees .
A proud Ram through and through , he revels in celebrating the accomplishments of today ’ s students , just as he cherishes the memories of his own time on campus . His unwavering support for the school is evident in his active involvement , from serving on the Finance Committee to cheering on the Rams at sporting events and hosting a table at the annual Alumni Senior Breakfast .

they play in sustaining school operations and providing transformative opportunities to students of all backgrounds .
“ Students come to us from wildly different backgrounds ,” he explained . “ They accomplish so much together and then they continue to go out and do incredible things in the world . The smiles on graduation day are a true testament to the greatness of Fordham Prep , and it ’ s really gratifying to see .”
Murray believes deeply in the Prep ’ s mission of opening doors through Jesuit education , echoing the impact of his own transformative experiences . He was excited for his own son , Bobby , to get a taste of the Prep experience through the Higher Achievement Program ( HAP ) in the summer of 2024 .

He remembers his time as a student at Fordham Prep fondly , bringing him back to the historic Rose Hill campus to see his fellow Rams and former teachers often at reunions and other school events .

Murray is also a member of the Shea-McDonough Legacy Society . He was motivated to join by a desire to leave a lasting impact on a school that shaped his formative years profoundly . Reflecting on memories from his student days , he credits Fordham Prep for instilling in him not just academic knowledge but also valuable life lessons , particularly through experiences like the Emmaus retreat and service projects .
When asked about his membership in the legacy society , his support for the Annual Fund , and contributions to the Rev . Christopher J . Devron , SJ REACH Scholarship , Murray highlights the important roles
“ Fordham Prep taught me how to learn ,” he stated . “ I ’ d argue I got more out of my time at the Prep than I did in college . My memories of the Prep inspire me to continue to give back .”
