Q & A with Bobcat Senior & Future UCA Bear Rex Tedder . By : Duck Fletcher
1 . You have had a nice high school baseball career especially throwing on the bump . Discuss your career so far .
My career so far has been great . I wouldn ' t change how it has gone for anything . The Walnut Ridge baseball program is a top high school baseball program in NEA every year , and I think they always will be . My experience at WRHS has been great . The relationships I have gotten from WRHS baseball are for life and the experience has been like no other . This year is going to be a great year as well . 2 . You have plans to play at the next level . Explain the recruiting process , what that was like and why you landed where you did . The recruiting process for me was a very fun and exciting experience . At times it was overwhelming , but I got through the hard times because I knew my hard work was paying off so that made it easier to get through . I was blessed to talk to several great colleges in the process and build relationships with their coaches . UCA took interest in me in the summer , and I felt like I was at home with the coaches there from day one . The decision was well thought out , and I am extremely pumped to be a Bear .
3 . You have played for two different schools at the varsity level . Talk about your time at Pocahontas and now at Walnut Ridge . What made you make the move ? My time at Pocahontas was good , my freshman year we made it to state and , in my opinion , we should ' ve been in the finals that year . I played with a lot of great players that year , and I am still super close friends with a few of them . My time at Walnut Ridge has been an experience like no other . We lost in regionals my sophomore year and made it to state my junior year . Walnut Ridge builds a brotherhood every year and that means more to me than anything . By the end of every year we are all a family and that means a lot for every program . I made the move to Walnut Ridge because they had what was best for me and my family . My dad went to school there , and my mom has her business in Walnut Ridge as well . The academics at WRHS are amazing and the sports are great too . The move was not just for baseball and academics but it was for my basketball career too .
4 . You are a multisport athlete . You have proven to be a good basketball player . What is your favorite sport ? What ’ s it been like playing for Coach Coffman and finding some success on the hardcourt ?
