Brockway Park, 13669 Bronze Parkway, features a disc golf course. Charlie’ s, 3155 144th St. W.; Bloomfield, 14225 Bloomfield Path; Claret, 15130 Claret Ave., and Erickson parks have tennis courts, with Claret also being home to pickleball.
More baseball and softball fields are at the Ames Complex and the Flint Hills Recreation Complex, which includes a shelter building and trailhead.
In Farmington, Rambling River Park, 17 Elm St., has 58 acres that include tennis courts, ice skating and warming house, playground equipment, baseball and softball fields, and bike trails. A Farmington Area Veterans Memorial was dedicated in the park in 2014. The Vermillion River is the largest stream in Dakota County. The river is one of the few places in the southern Twin Cities metro area where people can catch trout. The city provides public access within Rambling River Park. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources stock the river with rainbow trout each year.
Distad Park and Greenway, Upper 182nd Street and Dunbury Avenue, has a lighted hockey and ice rink, warming house and wooded area.
Prairie Waterway Greenway, 821 13th St., offers 95.4 acres of walking and biking trails that are ideal for in-line skating. There is also fishing and a large gazebo with picnic tables that can be rented.
Depot Way Art Park, in the heart of downtown Farmington at County Highway 50 and Second Street, is an art sculpture park. Numerous sculptures and art pieces by local students enhance a brick path that winds its way around flower gardens and shade trees.
Evergreen Knoll Park, 626 Heritage Way, offers volleyball, playground equipment for toddler, preschool and school-aged children, a large shelter, picnic tables and restrooms and running water.
Rambling River Center is a community senior center at 325 Oak St. The center is a drop-in facility providing programming for adults ages 50 and older. Membership is not required, but is encouraged. City park or shelter rental is available from May 1 to Oct. 1. Picnic shelters can be reserved for family gatherings, company picnics, reunions and other group events.
